attractions on the way

During the route you can notice the change of vegetation when passing from chestnut groves to beech woods, in the autumn it is a triumph of colors ranging from red, yellow and brown. The Hermitage of San Girolamo was the home of Fra Girolamo Gabrielli who, although born of a noble Sienese family, retired to this place in penance in 1525. The small complex is entirely excavated in a volcanic rock mass that emerges from the beech forest soil, which has been thickly worked over time to create environments, shelters, seats, platforms and passages. Another attraction is the splendid view of the basin of Lake Vico that you can see from the Departure of the Hang Gliders and from the Middle Path.
